Not just because they taste so damn good, not just because New Zealand’s pristine waters have the freshest and best seafood in the world, but because they form a part of the fabric of our life.
Our fondest memories were always wrapped in yesterday’s news. Friday night’s was family Fish’n’Chips, as was after weekend sport or on the way home from skiing. They were there as we cheered on the All Blacks or warmed ourselves up after a deep dive, cold days fishing or hot day at the beach.
When a young Kiwi came to live in Bangkok in the early 90’s, there was one thing this vibrant and bustling city could never offer him, his favourite taste of home. With a mind full of memories, he and a team of passionate Kiwis decided it was time for the world to discover more.
Snapper New Zealand is not just a place to eat; it is a glimpse of a nation’s obsession. It is homemade Fish’n’Chips the way we like them in New Zealand as well as a whole range of yummy seafood and meat dishes using organic, chemical free, halal and free range ingredients with beautiful New Zealand wines to wash it all down. It’s a beach house full of memories and a taste of a few of the things that Kiwis love. We hope you will love it too.

A simply but tastefully decorated restaurant in a sub Soi of Soi 4. Good selection of fish, various cuts of chips and other normal menu items. Our group held a meeting prior to eating and drinks during meeting. Food arrived promptly after the meeting, well presented. Attentive staff. Outside and two story inside seating. Yes, we will return..
We used to visit Snapper on Soi 11 in the past and were pleased to visit the newly reopened restaurant in Soi 8. The new shop is slightly smaller than before, but I found the ambient to be more casual and relaxing. For starters, we had the seafood chowder and tuna tartare. The chowder was light yet flavorful. The tartare was very refreshing. We ordered the snapper and deep sea cod fish and chips, which were of excellent quality. The fish was very fresh and ......
We pleasantly surprised by the new place... while being hidden and tucked away, it has a nice big layout. We liked especially that there were just enough options on the menu... it is not overwhelming, and you know you're getting fresh fish. The fish and chips we had were excellent. Thank you!
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! I visit this restaurant every time I visit Bangkok and it is always superb! British people love fish and chips as much as New Zealanders, and this restaurant never disappoints me. The food is SUPERB! The staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant is clean, cool, comfortable and easy to find off Sukumvit Soi 8. (It used to be in Soi 11, but had to move due to redevelopment plans for the old area.) You can choose from......
When Snapper temporarily closed down some time ago, we were very disappointed. So we have been happy to learn it was reopening. We took friends there last Saturday and we couldn't believe it!!! Their famous "Fush & Chups", which was already good before, simply became outstanding. Sooooo good! A must to try in Bangkok! The staff is also very friendly and always ready to help. We were even treated with a special complimentary desert to celebrate the birth of our new Kiwi granddaughter!
Restaurant is conveniently located at the end of the first small lane on the right, in Sukhumvit Soi 8. The skytrain station - Nana - is right infront of Sukhumvit Soi 8. The restaurant offers a nice, clean, relaxing atmosphere so will be most suitable even for families with small children. The menu is quite comprehensive with a wide selection of fish - all imported from the clean and fresh waters of New Zealand. You are ensured of a great......
